Freshly painted carport and side elevation of a single-story home, Florida

Exterior House Painting Services

Weather-resistant finishes that protect your home from Florida's heat and humidity while boosting curb appeal.

Exterior Paint That Survives Florida

Florida is hard on paint. UV fades color, afternoon storms drive moisture into every crack, humidity feeds mildew, and near the coast salt air eats at any finish that wasn't applied over properly prepared surfaces. The difference between an exterior paint job that lasts 3 years and one that lasts 10 is preparation and product.

That's why we pressure wash every exterior, repair and caulk before painting, prime bare or chalky areas, and use 100% acrylic latex exterior paints from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore formulated for UV, mildew and salt resistance.

Our Exterior Painting Process

  1. Free estimate.

We walk the entire exterior with you, note repairs and moisture issues, and quote in writing within 24 hours.

  2. Prep days.

Pressure wash, dry time, scraping, caulking, repairs, priming.

  3. Painting.

Body first, then trim and accents. Two coats, back-rolled on stucco for full coverage.

  4. Walkthrough.

We inspect with you in daylight, touch up, and clean the site.

Most single-family exteriors take 3 to 6 days depending on square footage, prep needs and weather. Florida's afternoon rain can affect drying time, so we schedule carefully and communicate timelines upfront.

Choosing Exterior Colors

Lighter colors reflect heat and fade less in Florida sun. Darker colors look sharp but need higher-quality paint to hold up. We bring large samples, paint test patches on the sun-facing side of your home, and check any HOA color requirements before we start.

Exterior Painting FAQ

How much does it cost to paint a house exterior?
Exterior painting typically falls between $3 and $7 per square foot depending on home size, stories, surface type, prep and repairs, and paint quality. We quote every home in person and in writing, for free.
How long will an exterior paint job last in Florida?
With proper prep and 100% acrylic paint, 7 to 10 years is realistic on stucco and block. Coastal homes and dark colors are on the shorter end; well-shaded homes can go longer.
Do you pressure wash before painting?
Always. Painting over dirt, mildew or chalking is the number one reason exterior paint fails early.
What time of year is best for exterior painting in Florida?
Fall through spring is ideal, with lower humidity and fewer afternoon storms. Summer works too; we simply start early and plan around the rain.
Do you repair stucco cracks and wood rot?
Yes. Hairline stucco cracks, minor wood repairs and caulking are part of standard prep. Larger structural or rot repairs are assessed and quoted separately during the estimate.
Are you insured for exterior work on two-story homes?
Yes. Silvio Ramos Painting LLC carries general liability insurance and we're happy to provide a certificate before we start.
