Home exterior freshly painted in cream with a wood deck and stairs, Florida

Deck Staining & Painting

Protect your deck from Florida's UV and rain, and bring the color back.

Why Florida Decks Need Regular Staining

Unprotected wood in Florida grays within a year, splinters within two and rots soon after. A quality stain or deck coating blocks UV, sheds water and slows mildew, and it keeps your deck safe to walk on barefoot. Most decks in our climate need a fresh coat every 2 to 3 years.

Deck Staining FAQ

How often should I restain my deck in Florida?
Every 2 to 3 years for semi-transparent stains; solid stains and deck paints can last longer. Full sun and pool-side decks are on the shorter end.
Can you stain over an old finish?
Sometimes. Semi-transparent stains need the old finish removed; solid stains can often go over a well-prepped existing solid finish. We'll tell you at the estimate.
How long before I can use the deck?
Typically 24 to 48 hours after the final coat, depending on product and humidity.
Do you also paint fences and pergolas?
Yes. Fences, pergolas, gazebos and outdoor structures are quoted alongside your deck.
